May here in Southern Oregon is outdoor month. The local wineries open their doors and encourage wine, food and music lovers from all walks of live to visit and enjoy the amazing weather – cool, slightly windy, sunny smoke free days seems to flow by seemlessly here in Ashland, Oregon. Del Rio Vineyard out in Gold Hill brings back their Sunday Slowdown Days in the backyard of their Wine Tasting Room. It is a wonderful day to get the chance to relax, enjoy the family with friends and a “bring your own” picnic.
As Del Rio quotes: “its the best way to unWINEd”…They encourage guests to bring their own blankets and picnic wicker baskets and to sip on summer in a glass whilst listening to live music. I always recommend a stop at the Rogue Creamery to pick up a favorite local cheese and baguette in Central Point, along with a sweet offering from Lillie Belle gourmet chocolatiers. Pack it all up and head out to add a bottle of wine to your picnic from Del Rio.
