Local Coffee Roasters in Ashland….

Adam and I paid a quick visit to Case Coffee on Friday morning. I wanted to meet Kati Case. I first visited Case in March of 2014 when they were undergoing a re-vamp and they were still open and serving coffee to their followers. I just loved the ambiance of the cafe from the first time I walked into it. They are situated opposite the Southern Oregon University, and all of their roasting is done in the cafe in their 1950’s Otto Swaldo roaster which can be seen by the public as it is situated within the heart of the cafe. Unfortunately we just missed Kati but we decided to treat ourselves to a Coffee and to try out the baking side of the cafe. They were pretty busy and it would appear that they are well supported by the University Students. The baking is definitely a step up on what it was, although I did love the bagels served at that time. We had a huge biscuit (we call them scones) which was light and fluffy. This was served with a side of butter with honey whipped through it. Delicious and a great idea to incorporate the honey. The other baked goods looked just as good. They were sporting a new medal that they had just received for their Kenya Muthonjo AA at the Good Food Awards in San Francisco. They are also serving teas now – Metolius Teas from Bend, Oregon.

Case Coffee Roasters are worth a visit during your Ashland OSF Season, they are approximately 2 miles from Abigail’s and its a lovely walk through town and past the library, both during the Winter and Summer season
